About
Hasan Khan is a Doctoral Researcher (PhD Candidate) at Cranfield University, specialising in data-driven decision-making, supply chain analytics, and AI-enabled optimisation in complex operational systems. His research sits at the intersection of operations, analytics, and strategy, focusing on developing decision-support systems that enhance organisational resilience, risk management, and performance in global supply networks.
His doctoral research is part of a fully funded industrial collaboration with the largest premium automotive manufacturer in the UK, where he works closely with senior stakeholders to develop analytical and machine learning-based frameworks for supplier risk assessment, monitoring, and mitigation. His work also explores horizon scanning and predictive approaches to manage disruptions in the transition towards electrified supply chains.
Hasan holds an MSc in Global Logistics, Operations & Supply Chain Management (Distinction) from Northumbria University, where his research focused on Industry 4.0 digitalisation to enhance supply chain resilience. He brings over seven years of industry experience across supply chain operations, procurement, risk management, and business intelligence, including roles with John Lewis & Partners and leadership experience as Chief Operating Officer in a large-scale printing and publishing organisation.
Alongside his research, Hasan contributes to postgraduate teaching at Cranfield University, delivering modules in analytics, supply chain strategy, sustainability, and risk. He supervises MSc dissertations (RQF 7) and delivers simulation-based workshops, including Executive MBA sessions. As an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), he demonstrates commitment to effective and inclusive teaching practice.
His interests lie in applying analytics, AI, and optimisation to solve complex business problems, particularly in areas such as supply chain resilience, digital transformation, circular economy, and strategic decision-making.
